Samsung Pay, Gamin Pay and Fitbit Pay can all also be used to make withdrawals, as well as PIN changes, deposits, account transfers and balance enquiries.
Customers simply wave their mobile device over a contactless reader at the ATM, select the card they want to use and enter their PIN.
The bank says that more than one million of its customers use digital wallets loaded with an ANZ-issued card. Between October 2017 and August 2018, ANZ customers made more than 57 million mobile payment transactions worth more than $1.8 billion.
ANZ customer engagement lead Kath Bray says: “With the high adoption rates of contactless payments in Australia, our customers will be some of the first in the world to use their mobile devices to withdraw cash in addition to making payments.”
