AFFINITY CREDIT UNION LAUNCHES EVERLINK’S LOCK’N’BLOCK® SOLUTION –
A MOBILE CARD BLOCK SERVICE – FOR INCREASED PROTECTION OF MEMBER DEBIT CARDS
MARKHAM, ON, JANUARY 22, 2018 – Everlink Payment Services Inc. announced today that their mobile fraud management solution, Lock’N’Block®, is now available to cardholders using the Affinity Credit Union mobile app. Lock’N’Block® provides cardholders with the ability to control access to their debit cards, when and where they want, through their mobile phone. In addition to changing their setting through Affinity’s mobile app, members can also access the functionality through online retail banking, online business banking, and by speaking with staff at the Advice and Contact Centres.
Lock’N’Block® has been designed with different blocking capabilities. Cardholders can lock their card completely or specifically from international use while allowing domestic transactions. When the cardholder locks their debit card using Lock’N’Block®, debit card transactions are blocked by the Lock’N’Block® system. Further, Lock’N’Block® has been designed to not interfere with other Fraud Management System actions. Lock’N’Block® works on Apple™ and Android™.
Cardholders control debit card access by simply logging into their mobile banking application and clicking on the Lock’N’Block® icon. The screen will then display a page that shows an image of the card that they have “Registered” and a toggle that will allow the cardholder to “Lock” or “Unlock” their debit card devices, and includes support for Everlink’s DebitWear™ contactless debit wristband.
